Let's explore the definition of Qigong:
Qi, derived from the language of ancient Chinese people, encompasses thousands of years of accumulated knowledge from various disciplines such as Daoist beliefs, meditations, Da Wu dancing for health, Yi Jing (I-Ching art of divination), and Martial Arts.
In the context of Dragon Fire Qigong, Qi represents the hidden energy inherent in all things and serves as the connecting force between all beings, including through the void of space.

In human connection, Qi harnessed through a set of Mind-Body-Breath exercises, enables the gathering and transformation of our body's energy. Allows for the direct absorption of Qi. Includes the wellness centres known as Dantiens or Elixir fields.
In "Dragon Fire Qigong" the lower wellness centre (Xia) has the physical characteristic, like a bowl or sack that accumulate and store Qi energy, until it overflows, spreading through the body, merging Qi.

Gong refers to work or skill. Therefore, Gong exercises are the necessary actions one must undertake, to cultivate and form Qi energy within oneself. There are countless Qigong styles and practices, each connecting at specific points and offering different approaches and benefits. Qigong can be categorised into three applications: Martial, Health, and Spiritual. Each application has its own unique set of exercises to achieve its desired effects.

"Three Links: Chi Boxing; Qigong," three aspects or branches.

The Martial element focuses on forging toned strength, through gentle exercises, more decisive in martial applications. Referred to as 'Chi Kung' within the spectrum of Qigong.

Health Qigong focuses flowing meditative practices that promote healing, restoration, and overall wellness. It aligns with the principle pathways of "Traditional Chinese Medicine" such as acupuncture, massage, and herbal medicine.

Spiritual Qigong delve deeper into the realm of the mind (meditation) inner experiences.
Practices known as Nei gong (meaning inner work) and Nei Dan (the return to spirit).
These terms and classifications serve to differentiate the tone and focus within the broader context of Qigong practice.
