Chi Boxing Drills

Three Links: Chi Boxing. 

In Chi Boxing; there are a series of Drills and techniques. Each to employ within your development, the need to perform boxing practices, in order to fully understand the style and techniques.  Chi Boxing incorporates a direction into 'Dragon Fire Fists' (Ch'uan), 'Tiger Hand' (Chang). In this ebb and flow of fist - hand coordinations, you could become adept at this style. Without the need for conflict, in the real world. These Drills can be performed as a seperate strategy into boxing accomplishments and defence.

Dragon Fire Fist (Ch'uan)

Dragon Fire Fist employs standing 'Boxing Drills' for punching strikes in many directions. Showing the ability to attach in all directions, enables one to fully utilise closed fist strikes, in the delivery of powerful defence. This includes shadow boxing training and movement forms. These to help better understand directions and avoidance technique. As this style is based on a westerners perspective, using Chinese construct Martial arts and Aikido movement, hand grabs. It is designed for the westerner boxing approach. Delivered in a way that you can learn solo, without the need for another or two person training. This style can utilise boxing equipement if wanted.

First level Stance Form

Standing ready, forward left boxing, tiger stance left, forward right boxing, tiger stance right.

 

Cross step forward right guard, cross step forward left guard.

​

Step back mountain stance left, step back mountain stance right. 

​

Mountain stances: Open mountain stance (Yin), Closed mountain stance (Yang), High - middle - low. 

​

Diagonal Tiger/Dragon - Bow stance left & right.

​

Pivot inwards left/right, Pivot step back around left/right.

​

Tiger Hand (Chang)

The open hand forms the combination defence in Chi Boxing. Often employed first to block, move, hold or parry. The 'Five Element' boxing forms an integral partnership in the harmonious flow of defence and strike. If the hands take hold then push-pull effects can be applied, Tiger. An open hand can also be a mighty strike force, when fists are not needed. Chi Boxing has drills to employ strategy and purpose to hand strikes and holds.
