Chi Boxing Introduction

By designing Chi Boxing' primarily as a healing exercise, I have prioritised the cultivation of Qi, the vital life energy, for promoting healing, vitality, and harmony. The structure of the forms allows for smooth and flowing movements, facilitating the warming, stretching, and energising of the body. Furthermore, the meditative and relaxing aspects of the practice helped calm the mind and foster a sense of fulfilment. As this form incorporates elements from ancient theories and philosophies to create a holistic practice that nurtures physical health, emotional wellness, and a sense of harmony, while remaining adaptable to self-defence needs if necessary.
Additionally, as my lifelong awareness of the need for self-defence at times, has influenced the development of this form. While not explicitly taught as a martial art, the structure and movements of these my ‘Three Links: Chi Boxing’ constructed from the principles of (Tai Chi Ch’uan, Hsing-I Ch’uan and Ba Gua Zhang) three internal martial art styles of China. These along with Aikido and Western Boxing formulate the design. Therefore, it may also serve as a foundation for self-defence (boxing style only), providing a comprehensive approach to maintaining overall wellness, vitality, soul defence and harmony.

These forms can instantly invigorate you. As is from one movement phase, onto another. These simple routines open and activate the mind and body systems, thus connecting to movements, a personal journey of self-discovery and healing. Creation of the "Three Links: Chi Boxing" is a personal journey of self-discovery and healing. My research into Chinese history and philosophy, particularly the ancient and modern aspects of Chinese culture (traditional Chinese medicine) TCM, provided a deep understanding of the principles underlying this practice. Concepts such as Eight Tri Grams (Ba Gua); Five Element Theory and Yin/Yang philosophy intertwined with these forms, allowing for a more enriched experience and intrinsic healing.
Here, the term "Three Links" refers to the three internal martial arts of China: Tai Chi Ch'uan, Hsing-I Ch'uan, and Ba Gua Zhang. By combining elements from these arts with Western boxing techniques, and some Aikido, my aim to restructure my life and regain a sense of self-recovery; physically and Mindfelt. Still knowing this journey, marked by constant struggle, including periods of destruction, homelessness and personal trauma and tragedies. Is what also enabled my discovery of what worked. It my case continued assessment, success.

However, as determination and adaptability allowed me to persevere, finding solace in these forms became.
