Chi Boxing Forms a Belt system: Form One Earth-Tiger and Form Two Metal -Tiger

  • From Black Belt First Dan level, you can learn to teach through to complete    2nd Dan level.

- Alternatively, you can join without this progressive belt system, where you'll engage in a structured pathway, designed to develop and enhance your 'Chi Boxing Qigong'. As you can simply learn the 'Five Forms in One'. As was originally intended.

  • Regardless of your choice, this program provides a comprehensive and rewarding journey towards proficiency, acceptance, virtue, whilst empowering you to unlock the true potential of this solo 'Boxing Style' and energy cultivation practice.

In Chi Boxing; like most other forms of dressed martial arts, white belt represents a truly novice or beginner. Representing purity of spirit and willingness to learn.

Fire, Water, Wood. Beginning, life energy presents.

Basic motion: Rise-Drill-Fall-Overturn.

Form One Earth-Tiger/Yellow-White

 

First phase ‘Earth’ form Yellow-Tiger; Stomach/Spleen Vital Organ System. Open breath settle within, left Ward of Peng-(form the yellow golden Sun to spleen), step forward Right on guard, Roll Back, Chi-Press, An-push, Pull-push.

 "Earth Tiger Form". Hook Hand Press, Extended Forward Stance, Tiger Stance pull, Elbow punch midriff, Shoulder press, Low tapping punch, Seperate Yin/Yang Tiger Raise Knees groin block, Brush Knee Push, Close.

 

Second Phase Earth Tiger Form; Sweep hand across Zhong grab to cling, pull sliding door closed, wave hands through clouds, Dragon Fire rises diagonally-left palm, pivot inwards stance left, Dragon rises diagonally right palm, Pivot step back around left, Dragon Fire rising Left diagonal Palm strike, pivot inwards stance left, Dragon Fire Right diagonal Palm strike, Cross forward step/left Dragon Fist - P’ao Ch’uan (Fire).

 

Third Phase Earth Tiger Form; Tsuan Ch’uan Water, Beng Ch’uan Wood, stand on guard - front kick/back kick low, High Mountain Stance Yang, lateral horizontal fist punch right side - mid level ribs, turn grab to pull with pivot right toe out, step turn inside around to pull the rope right through, end in High Mountain Stance Yang, facing opposite direction.

 

Fourth Phase Earth Tiger Form; relax fists into hands, Dragon turns to left behind; in ‘Pivoting back around stance’ complete circle with right foot moves to swing around to move through (clip left knee raised with left hand) then into ‘Tiger Stance on Guard’. Left step back stance-pull the rope through Tiger- step forward push both hands (right forward stance).

Fifth Phase Earth Tiger Form; here comes a series of circling manoeuvres. Dragon pivoting back around stance-left; step right foot past left into ‘Half Pivot around Inward Stance’, step into diagonal direction with ‘Push with Both Hands-left forward stance’, dragon seeks to return. Move into ‘Low Cross Forward Step under raised right Palm’ stand up in ‘Pivot toes inward/back around stance’, step forward ‘Right Forward Boxing Stance’-right hand grabs and pulls down to lower ribs, and left fist punches from behind back-Ming Men Kidney, in a hook punch to side of head. From this position left fist relaxes into palm, as right foot turns outwards. Instigate “Pivot/Swing/Hold, back around”, representing holding opponent in head lock. Turn back to face North Starting Position. Sign Off-Tiger Growl.

First level stance form. 

Standing ready, forward left boxing, tiger stance left, forward right boxing, tiger stance right. 

Cross step forward right guard, cross step forward left guard.

Step back mountain stance left, step back mountain stance right.

 Mountain stances:

Open mountain stance (Yin), Closed mountain stance (Yang), High - middle - low. 

Diagonal Tiger/Dragon - Bow stance left & right.

Pivot inwards left/right, Pivot step back around left/right.

Opening Form Strength and Tone Tiger, Sign Off Close.

Calisthenics hands - press, push, grab, stretch, hold in Mundra.

Circle of Hands form-Standing and circle of eight.

Seated Tiger feels within ‘Meditation’ (calming Breath, Body, Mind).

Metal Tiger Form Two; the connection of Tiger element low kicks study, by the joining to form one “Earth - Metal” forms the unity of Yellow Black Tiger (Earth/spleen-stomach) forged into White Black Tiger (Lungs/Large intestine) food, blood energy, to soul breath unity. This seals the journey towards seeking Black Belt from 1st level Tiger complete.

Water - Wood : Dragon Form Three (tiger - dragon encompass four); begin with form Phase One

Phase Two

Then from high grab with both hands, pull down to rear rising knee, becomes, “Dragon presents Left/Right Heng Ch’uan, Left Pi Ch’uan single elbow block. Cross forward step Right Guard, Dragon raises back knee to kick forward, Wings of Dragon press deflect. Move into Right step back stance, Dragon raises front knee to kick, wings of Dragon press the deflect. Brush left knee right hand push, Sweep palm across Zhong grab to cling, Pull sliding door closed, Hands in Cloud, Dragon Fire rises diagonally left palm, Pivot inwards stance left, Dragon Fire rises diagonally Right palm, Pivot step back around left, Dragon Fire rising left diagonal Palm Strike, Pivot inwards stance Left, Dragon Fire rising Right diagonal Palm Strike, Cross forward step/Left Dragon Fist - P’ao Ch’uan.

Phase Three

Dragon Fist Tsuan Ch’uan, Dragon Fist Beng Ch’uan, stand in guard, High Front Kick/Back Kick, Mountain Stance Three Horizontal Fists strike, Pivot around stance, ‘Grab to Pull’, then pull the Rope right through, Dragon turns to left behind - Pivoting back around stance. End in Tiger Stance on Guard Left, with Dragon Kicks outward above waist high, in swing around tap left leg front kick, Left Step back Boxing Stance on Guard, then Pull the Rope Left through, step forward Push with both hands.

 Phase Four

Pivoting back around stance left, Half Pivot around inward stance, then diagonally Push with Both Hands. Low Cross Forward Step under raised Right Palm, stand up in Pivot toes inward/back around stance, step into Right Forward Boxing Stance Pivot/ Swing/Hold, back around settle into Xia End.

Forging Mind - Body - Breath (Tiger, Dragon, Eagle)

Fire - Heart: Dragon Form Four (tiger - dragon encompass four); Open with Dragon presents. First Phase.

 

Second Phase 

From high grab with both hands, pull down to forward rising knee, becomes, “Dragon presents Right/Left Heng Ch’uan, Right/Left Pi Ch’uan double elbow block. Cross forward step Left Guard, Dragon raises back knee to kick forward, Wings of Dragon press deflect. Step down onto Left forward boxing, low back heel kick Right, step right foot back parallel stance before, Pivot to turn around stance, with low back kick Left heel. Right Forward boxing stance, Dragon strikes Left back fist behind then, Right forward fist strike - Left forward fist strike. Dragon presents double elbow Right Pi Ch’uan block, Tiger turns the wheel grab left, Hold Yin/Yang Ball into Wave hands in cloud. 

 

From this flow of movement comes, Dragon Fire rises diagonally right palm, Pivot inwards stance right, Dragon Fire rises diagonally left palm, Pivot step back around, Dragon Fire rising Right Diagonal palm strike, Pivot inwards stance Right, Dragon Fire rising Left Diagonal Palm Strike, Cross forward step/Right Dragon Fist - P’ao Ch’uan

 

Third Phase

Dragon Fist Tsuan Ch’uan, Dragon Fist Beng Ch’uan, Stand in Guard High Front kick/back kick, Pivot to turn around stance then strike back kick with other foot. Strike outwards double horizontal backfist, Grab to Pull into right elbow strike, step back into left back boxing stance, grab to pull into left elbow strike step back into Open mountain stance, quick strike back to left side horizontal with left forearm jab.

 

Fourth Phase

Commence circling manoeuvres, Pivoting back around stance, then Half Pivot around stance, Push with both hands, low cross forward step under raised left palm, Pivot toes inward/back around stance, finish with Pivot/swing/hold/back around stance. Sign off close.

heaven sequence or "Heaven /Earth" sequence, is derived from Ho Tu.

This represents the forming of - the Universe - forming of the body- Pre\Natal.

The HoTu Magic Square

The sequence of the HoTu numbers is one of generating.

The elements generate each other in the Sheng cycle, in a clockwise progression.

Metal births Water, Water births Wood, Wood births Fire, Fire, births Earth (in the centre) and Earth births Metal.

The Post-Heaven Sequence; "Earth/Heaven"

The Wen Wang BaÌ„guaÌ€ is derived from the Lo Shu. Connection into Five Elements delivery of body union formed- Post/Heaven- Soul Breath.

The Lo Shu Square

The sequence of the Lo Shu numbers is such that the elements control each other in the 'Ke' cycle in pendular motion across the centre, and generate each other in the 'Sheng' cycle in circular motion around the periphery.
